As part of the endeavor toward women's empowerment, Hoshyar's Executive Director has started up a small carpet retail business. Most of the tribal weavers in Central and South Asia are, traditionally, women, and their labor represents a significant part of the rich cultural heritage of the area in which Hoshyar works. By buying and selling the work they produce, Hoshyar is able to recycle financial resources back into the communities that keep this beautiful tradition alive.
