As part of the endeavor toward
women's empowerment, Hoshyar's Executive Director has started
up a small carpet retail business. Most of the tribal weavers
in Central and South Asia are, traditionally, women, and their
labor represents a significant part of the rich cultural heritage
of the area in which Hoshyar works. While Kilimania is a separate entity from Hoshyar, its profits are dedicated to support the work of the
foundation. By buying and selling the
work they produce, Hoshyar is able to recycle financial resources
back into some of the communities that keep the weaving tradition
